VOLUNTEER AS A BLAST PREVENTION EDUCATOR IN YOUR TOWN

The BLAST Lyme and Tick-borne Disease Prevention Program needs your help. This year, statewide requests for Lyme disease information exceeded our expectations. We invite you to join us in volunteering with BLAST so that no future opportunities for prevention will be missed.

Consider:

  • Hosting a Lyme disease prevention booth at your local health fair
  • Speaking to local organizations about Lyme disease prevention
  • Adding Lyme prevention information to the science or health classes you already teach
BLAST is a health education initiative focused on the most important science-based behaviors for keeping individuals safe from tick-borne diseases. BLAST has received accolades from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Connecticut Public Health Association, Fairfield County health departments and hospitals, universities and local school systems. Due to this positive response, BLAST receives far more requests for programming and event participation than we can accommodate with our small staff.

We are always happy to meet with prospective volunteers to expand their knowledge about tick-borne diseases and provide valuable experience training in and teaching the BLAST message. Help us by helping your community as a BLAST volunteer Lyme Educator.
