First Quarter Taxes

The first quarterly payment for Real and Personal Property taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2025 is due and payable July 1, 2026. Motor Vehicle taxes are also due and payable July 1, 2026. The grace period for payment extends to August 3, 2026 to avoid interest charges.

You may pay by phone, by text or online using either an electronic check or a credit card for a fee ($0.95 if you pay with an electronic check). Please consult your bill insert or visit www.ridgefieldct.gov for more information. Please note that online payments that are not made through our service provider must be in the office no later than the last day to pay to be considered on time.

If payment is not made within one month of the due date, the installment will become delinquent and will immediately be subject to 3% interest. From then on, additional interest of 1½% per month or any part thereof (18% annually) will be added to the 3%. The minimum interest charge is $2.00. There will be a $25.00 charge for all returned checks.

FAILURE TO RECEIVE A TAX BILL DOES NOT EXCUSE THE TAXPAYER FROM TAX AND DELINQUENT INTEREST. (C.G.S. 12-130) Tax bills will be arriving at the end of June and will also be available online at www.ridgefieldct.gov. If you do not receive a bill by the end of the first week of July, please call the Tax Office at 203-431-2779 for a copy.

Please make checks payable to Tax Collector, Town of Ridgefield and mail to P.O. Box 299, Ridgefield, CT 06877-0299.

OFFICE HOURS: Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. As a convenience, the office will be open on Saturday August 1st from 9:00 AM to Noon and on Monday, August 3rd from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
