Aarti Paranjape

Aarti Paranjape, lives in Ridgefield with her husband. She has been a resident for last twenty-one years, raising both her son and daughter through the Ridgefield Public Schools system.

Aarti was born and raised in New Delhi, India. She completed her B.S. in Botany and M.S. in Library and Information Technology, and worked as a librarian in British Council Library in New Delhi before moving to Minnesota in 1997. After living in Minnesota for six years, she and her family settled in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Aarti first joined the Town of Ridgefield as a Member Services Clerk at Parks & Recreation and an on-call assistant with the First Selectman’s Office. She joined the Building Department in 2011 and began working as an Administrative Assistant in the Planning & Zoning Department in 2015. In 2022, she was promoted to Zoning Enforcement Officer. Aarti completed 60 hours of specialized study in zoning enforcement and earned her certification as a Certified Zoning Enforcement Officer (CZEO) in the State of Connecticut.

In 2025, Aarti assumed the role of Director of Planning & Zoning and Chief Zoning Enforcement Officer. She brings with her a decade of experience in the department, as well as broad knowledge of other town functions.

Aarti is committed to working collaboratively with the Planning & Zoning Commission, as well as other boards and government agencies, to thoughtfully enhance the town while preserving Ridgefield’s character, beauty, and integrity. She serves as a resource for residents, patrons, and businesses, helping them understand the services the provided by the Planning & Zoning Department. Known as a problem-solver and a people-oriented leader, she strives to make Ridgefield a welcoming, enjoyable, and serene community.

In her free time, Aarti enjoys reading, gardening, knitting, and hitting her daily 10k steps.
