- No permit to operate a food establishment shall be issued unless applicant has provided the local health department with proof of registration with the CT Department of Health. *** The Health Department will advise when the proof of registration with the State of CT is online ***
- Qualified Food Operator
- Certificates must be current, within 5 years. If the QFO expires within the year, the QFO holder must renew to avoid a lapse in coverage, and provide a copy to the Health department.
- Qualified Food Operator will now be known as Certified Food Protection Manager. When renewing, be mindful the type of certification indicates this new term. 'Food Handler' certification is not acceptable.
- Classification designations of food establishments will change. The local health department will notify you of your new category. There are still four categories, but the definition of each category will have changed.
